How to get Twitter Traffic

You need to get traffic to your website so they can sign up to your list. That is often the toughest part of the equation for IM. One of the best ways is to use Twitter.

Personally, I think Twitter is full of junk tweets by a bunch of boring twits (not you of course), but hey, it pays the bills. I don't really care if you just ate a sandwich, but you will see a lot of useless tweets like this, plus a lot of blatant spam. Don't worry, you don't have to participate in this.

OK, so you have your Twitter account setup. The next step is to do a search for keywords in your niche. You are looking for people posting questions about your niche. Answer these questions with a link to the answer. It could be a link to your blog post that has the answer, or it could be somewhere else on the web.

The next thing to do is to search for interesting news within your niche and tweet this.

The idea is to be a great authority resource for your niche. Every now and then, plug your money site and your list.

This takes roughly 15 minutes per day. You don't need to spend more time than that.

There are tools to make it go easier and faster. One good one is HootSuite.com. They allow you to send your tweets at scheduled times during the day. You put them all in the morning and they take it from there.

The next thing to do is to start putting all of these answers into blog posts. Put a call to action link at the bottom of each post or a signup form. Just setup a Wordpress site and start writing. You can also tweet your blog posts using the "WP to Twitter" plugin.

You can find content by using StuffToTweet.com. They collect all of the Twitter action and show what is more popular. You can also setup Google Alerts to notify you when your keywords are discovered on the web.
